Patient Positioning and OR Setup
HIP7 supports THR surgery in the supine and lateral patient positions. For the registration procedure in the lateral position, the L5 needs to be accessible.
In case the measurement of leg length and offset change is part of the workflow, the Reference Array Pinless Femur needs to be attached to the thigh.
Before You Begin
- The camera and monitor do not restrict the work of the surgeon.
- The camera has a clear view of the reference arrays during all registration and navigation procedures.

Lateral Position Consideration
Ensure that the most caudal spinous process (L5) is accessible to the surgeon and that it is contained within the sterile field, when performing a procedure in a lateral position. This might require changing the position of patient positioners/fixation.
If required, place the posterior patient support towards the sacrum and the anterior support towards the pubis symphysis.
Example OR Setup – Supine Patient Position
Possible OR setup for surgeries with the patient in the supine position.
